Varun, a non-resident Indian and medical student living in Austin, Texas, returns to India with his elder brother for his brother Raju’s wedding to Renuka. The trip brings him to the Telangana village of Banswada, where he meets Renuka’s younger sister, Bhanu, a confident and expressive young woman who refuses to feel secondary to anyone.
