Feline Frame-Up

Pussyfoot naps on a plush pillow when Claude kicks her off to claim it for himself. Marc Antony retaliates by attacking Claude, throwing him off and returning Pussyfoot to her pillow. He then continues to clobber Claude, until Filbert steps in with a final warning and a cane.

While Marc Antony sleeps, Claude places Pussyfoot in Marc Antony's mouth and yowls to Filbert, making it seem like the dog is about to eat the kitten. Filbert is deceived by the ruse, and Marc Antony is banished from the house.

Outside the house, Claude revels in his new freedom and taunts the dog by openly abusing Pussyfoot, even dropping Pussyfoot into a vase. He mocks Marc Antony, reveling in the power he has gained from the ruse.

Marc Antony continues to find ways to strike back, attacking Claude from behind closed doors or by sneaking back into the house in crafty ways. Each ambush is brief, but it gives him another chance to clobber Claude before Filbert boots him out again.

The night becomes a cycle of quick clashes as Marc Antony's reappearances disrupt Claude's newfound freedom. Claude is repeatedly ejected, yet the dog keeps finding ways back to strike again.

After numerous thumpings, Claude grows weary and decides to surrender rather than endure more punishment. He realizes Marc Antony will keep attacking him until he tells the truth.

Marc Antony confronts Claude and demands the confession, determined to clear Pussyfoot's name. The dog stands watch while Claude reluctantly agrees to reveal what he did.

Claude gives Filbert a signed confession detailing his scheme. He then retrieves Pussyfoot from the vase and places her back in her bed, with Marc Antony watching closely, ready to intervene if Claude acts again.

Filbert punishes Claude for framing Marc Antony by kicking him out of the house. Claude lands on the street, signifying his downfall.

As Claude sits on the curb, a streetcar arrives and runs him over, the culmination of a chaotic night. He groggily mutters, 'Just one of those days, I guess,' before passing out.
