Dr. Jordine and his assistant Diane oversee the Falcon Academy athletes and administer experimental steroids as part of their plan to win Nationals. During a training session, Frank Agee suffers a serious injury that breaks his leg and forces him to rely on crutches. The accident sidelines him from competition and marks a setback for the team. His absence is felt as the investigations begin to bear fruit.

During a late-night investigation, Frank finds the corpses of the murdered students stashed in unused lockers in the basement. He is confronted by the killer and is killed with a javelin on a staircase before he can alert anyone. The discovery confirms the killers’ menace and seals his fate in the story.

Simultaneously, Annie sneaks into the academy to uncover the source of the disappearances and hears Frank's screams from the basement. She is pursued by the killer and narrowly escapes, yet she is stabbed in the process. Phil arrives and rescues her from immediate danger.
