Macau government official Kent Yung, Joe Cheung, travels to Hong Kong to attend an international conference, bringing a momentous appearance that will soon rattle the city’s nerves. At the Hong Kong International Airport, as Yung is speaking to reporters, a mysterious woman named Jade Hisako Shirata erupts from the crowd and fires three precise shots, throwing the scene into chaos. The sudden attack triggers a high-stakes pursuit through crowds, security checkpoints, and the tangle of airport corridors, drawing in the city’s elite responders and setting a grim tone for what is supposed to be a routine public appearance.
Leading the chase is Special Forces superintendent Charles Cheung Chi Shing Simon Yam, a seasoned officer whose squad is tasked with protecting Yung. The pursuit intensifies as Jade claws her way through obstacles, only to tumble from a building during the confrontation, losing her memory in the fall. The seemingly blank mind of Jade leaves investigators chasing more questions than answers, while the pressure to contain the fallout from the assault ramps up.
To handle the unfolding case, CID chief inspector Tim Yiu Alex Fong is brought in to assist Cheung and the rest of the police contingent. As the inquiry deepens, the team discovers that Jade is not a lone player but part of an international terrorist organization. The backstory that begins to emerge paints a chilling portrait: Jade was born into happiness in Japan but was abducted at age three by the group’s enigmatic leader, Otosan [Sonny Chiba], who molds her into a lethal operative through intense brainwashing and specialized training. The revelation adds a global dimension to the case and foreshadows a crisis that extends far beyond Hong Kong’s borders.
With Otosan now covertly steering operations inside Hong Kong, the organization presses its advantage. In a brutal bid to control the situation, Otosan’s subordinates murder Yung’s wife, Monica, and kidnap his son, Joe, forcing Yiu to act under extreme pressure and to consider actions he would rather never take. The personal stakes for Yiu escalate as he becomes entangled in a web of coercion, deceit, and a race against time to rescue his child while thwarting the terrorist plot.
Amid the turmoil, Jade’s memories begin to return, shedding light on why Otosan sought to deploy her in Hong Kong and revealing a troubling clue: Otosan has planted a mole within the police force. The discovery raises deeper questions about loyalty, truth, and how far the system can be compromised when lives hang in the balance. As the investigation presses forward, the very people trusted to protect the city come under scrutiny, and the line between ally and traitor becomes dangerously blurred.
In the end, the pursuit of Jade and the quest to save Yiu’s son push every actor involved to confront difficult choices, with the investigation revealing unsettling incentives and hidden agendas that ripple through the force. The story remains grounded in a tense cat-and-mouse dynamic, where memory, motive, and misdirection collide at every turn, leaving audiences to weigh the costs of vigilance, the ethics of intervention, and the elusive question of who can be trusted when the stakes are so personal and the threat so far-reaching.
