As tensions escalate, the Torus blankets the planet with a thick cloud cover, signaling a new mass extinction. The world teeters on the brink as military actions threaten to trigger it.

A presidential order calls for a nuclear bomb to be planted inside the Torus to destroy it. Czaban and Rand attempt to deactivate the device, but their efforts are unsuccessful.

The Torus absorbs the nuclear blast, ceasing its actions, shedding its outer shell, and departing Earth as an energy sphere. The world is left in awe of the sacrifice and the artifact's final act.

Four months later, Rand is suddenly cured of ALS due to exposure to the Torus. Czaban reveals she is pregnant, despite being sterile before their encounter with the artifact.
