In 1979, Carl Don Scribner, a lumberjack working in Alaska, is abducted by aliens and vanishes into the unknown. Fast forward to the present, where Isaac Ryan Masson, a young computer engineer, begins a daily video diary that charts his odd experiences and growing paranoia. After a routine hike, a encounter with a flying saucer and an alien leaves him shaken. Three days later, he wakes beside the water with a fog of memories and disturbing, precise injuries that point to something more than a simple accident. He uploads the abduction to the internet, and the clip spreads like wildfire, drawing relentless attention from the news, media, and a wary government.

As Isaac connects the dots, he notices patterns of alien life appearing throughout history, suggesting a longstanding, hidden presence. A post from a girl his age named Sara Highdee Kuan recounts a strikingly similar experience, and the two meet at a quiet local diner, sparking a cautious bond built on shared mystery. Isaac undergoes a lie detector test to prove the abduction, and although he passes, he is soon taken into custody by men in black led by Agent Graves Shaw Jones.

The authorities reveal that Isaac and Sara bear alien trackers embedded in their arms, and Isaac refuses to cooperate with the government’s demands. The two lovers-in-disguise escape, pursued by silent androids through remote terrain. Their journey continues to Costa Rica, where a hacker named Zed Christian Prentice greets them and confesses awareness of a United Nations agency behind the kidnapping. Zed helps them locate an elderly Carl, and they connect with him via video chat.

The trio uncovers a chilling revelation: the aliens plan to arrive in British Columbia in five days. They press on to the cabin where Carl hides, and, with his knowledge, he disables the UN trackers, offering a fragile two-day window of safety. Then the anticipated arrival unfolds, and the aliens declare their purpose: they study humans and believe that Jesus Christ plays a crucial role in the universe’s creation. As Sara’s tracker is removed, the men in black close in, and Graves presses Carl for answers about his father’s death. Carl refuses, and is shot, followed by Sara, who steps out and is also shot. Isaac’s tracker is removed, and he taps into latent powers—telekinetic and chronokinetic—to break free, saving Zed and carrying Sara and Carl to safety as the cabin is destroyed. The aliens intervene to rescue Sara and Carl, and the group escapes in a flying saucer.

Six months later, Isaac and Sara live a quieter life in Costa Rica, while Zed and Carl run a new science program, and Agent Graves has been fired. The story ends on a note of hardened resilience and the enduring mystery of humanity’s place in the cosmos.
