Elysium

In the year 2154, humanity is starkly divided into two classes. The affluent live a luxurious life on the space station Elysium, while the poor suffer on a decaying Earth.

Max Da Costa, a former car thief, now works at Armadyne Corp. An accident exposes him to lethal radiation, giving him only five days to live.

A group of illegal immigrants from Earth attempts to break into Elysium, prompting Secretary of Defense Jessica Delacourt to take decisive action. She deploys her enforcer, M. Kruger, to eliminate the incoming shuttles.

Delacourt strives for greater control and conspires with Armadyne's CEO John Carlyle to gain access to Elysium's central computer. Carlyle protects crucial information by having it encrypted in his brain.

Desperate for survival, Max seeks help from smuggler Spider. Spider agrees to help Max steal data from Carlyle, outfitting him with an exoskeleton and an implant to store the vital information.

Max and Spider's team successfully intercept Carlyle's shuttle to download the critical information. However, the encryption makes the data seemingly useless.

Following their heist, Delacourt orders Kruger to retrieve Carlyle and reclaim the program, resulting in a bloody confrontation that leaves many of Max's allies dead. Max seeks refuge with Frey and her ailing daughter Matilda.

In reaction to the chaos, Delacourt imposes a citywide lockdown to recover the stolen data. Meanwhile, Max learns of the potential to grant citizenship to all Earth inhabitants with the data in his brain.

Max negotiates with Kruger for passage to Elysium while attempting to save Frey and Matilda, who have been taken hostage. As they ascend, a fierce battle breaks out on Kruger’s ship.

The ship crashes during the battle, and Max, Frey, and Matilda are captured by Elysium's forces. They discover accessing the data in Max's mind would mean his death, but Delacourt presses forward regardless.

Kruger undergoes a transformation in a Med-Bay, gaining new military enhancements. He begins a violent rampage, eliminating Elysium's leadership as he pursues power for himself.

With Frey and Matilda escaping confinement, Max devises a plan to use Carlyle's program to grant citizenship to all Earth's inhabitants. He pushes into Elysium's data center while Frey seeks out a Med-Bay.

In a climactic showdown, Max manages to sever Kruger's connection to his exoskeleton. A desperate struggle ensues, but Max outmatches Kruger, throwing him to his end.

Max realizes that activating the citizenship program will cost him his life. He speaks to Frey one last time before uploading the program, ensuring Earth's inhabitants are recognized as citizens of Elysium.

Following Max's sacrifice, President Patel discovers Spider's new citizen status, rendering the arrest order void. Matilda receives medical treatment, and Elysium’s ships mobilize to aid Earth's newly recognized citizens.
