Edison

In Edison, a FRAT pursuit ends in a violent shootout where Lazerov kills a criminal by shooting through the sleeve of a hostage. The act foreshadows a pattern of intimidation used to hide police actions. It establishes Lazerov's willingness to bend the rules and set the stage for a broader cover-up.

Lazerov and Deed break into a house and steal money and cocaine from two dealers. Lazerov orders Deed to shoot the dealers if they threaten to rat them out, but Deed hesitates and Lazerov kills one of them instead. He then tells the surviving dealer, Isaiah Charles, to say that his partner attacked him with a knife, effectively covering up the cops' actions.

At the trial, Deed testifies to align with Lazerov's fabricated account. Pollack overhears Charles thanking the cops and begins pursuing the story, while his editor dismisses his suspicions. The false narrative hardens into a broader defense of the unit.

Pollack overhears the Charles gratitude and begins pursuing a corruption story. His editor Moses Ashford dismisses him and demands he cover only the verdict, ultimately firing him when Pollack presses for facts.

Pollack goes to interview Isaiah Charles, who promises to help if Pollack can deliver a message to his sick mother. The request deepens the stakes of the investigation and ties Pollack personally to the case.

Pollack and his girlfriend Willow are beaten near a dance club by assailants who turn out to be two cops from FRAT. Deed, who happens to be dancing nearby, recognizes the attackers and rushes to help. The incident widens the conflict between undercover corruption and civilian safety.

Deed visits Pollack in the hospital and meets Ashford, then warns that he and Pollack are not safe and should be moved. Investigator Levon Wallace arranges safety by moving Pollack to his family farm while the unit is investigated.

Isaiah Charles is murdered in prison, and Lazerov tells Deed that the problem is solved, implying the cover-up will continue unchallenged. This murder escalates the stakes, signaling that those who threaten the cover-up can be eliminated.

Lazerov travels to Wallace's farm to kill Pollack, but Pollack escapes on a bicycle after the attack and Lazerov's car is blown up. The chase leads to a construction site where Pollack fights for his life.

Tilman confronts Lazerov in a parking garage after they clash over going rogue, arguing about the unit's shift from brute force to finesse. The exchange reveals the growing cracks within FRAT.

At the F.R.A.T. office, Lazerov attacks Deed following a Herald article about the club assault. Tilman fatally shoots Lazerov, ending his rogue operation. Deed then begins to uncover evidence against the unit.

Deed sneaks back at night and finds proof of the unit's corruption and the money laundering links to Better Edison. He gives Pollack the files the next day, hoping to leverage exposure and protect himself.

Wallace shows Ashford the headquarters for Better Edison, revealing Reigert's role in the money laundering scheme. Reigert quietly dissolves Better Edison to try to escape accountability.

Pollack prepares electronic copies of his story and sends them to major newspapers, ensuring the investigation reaches a wide audience. Pollack and Willow recover, while Deed leaves law enforcement to live quietly with his pregnant wife, securing their safety.
