Carol senses husband John is distant and suspects an affair. After seeing Dr. Swope and hiring a detective, she probes herself, pretending to go with Eric, where she catches John with friend Charlotte. Their daughter Janet says she and Paul have given up on marriage. Carol and John chase them to a hotel, where John forces a shotgun wedding.
