Earth to Echo

Alex, Tuck, and Munch are childhood friends living in a small Nevada neighborhood. They learn that their homes are set to be demolished due to a highway construction project, marking an end to their cherished memories and adventures.

The night before their relocation, Munch discovers unusual patterns appearing on their phones. Intrigued, the trio decodes these patterns, revealing coordinates that lead them to an adventure in the nearby desert.

Arriving at the coordinates, they unearth a dusty, rusted object hidden beneath an electrical tower. They decide to take the mysterious object with them, excited to explore what it could be.

Following another map, they travel to a barn where the object astonishingly begins to repair itself using items found nearby. This moment marks the onset of their unbelievable journey with the unknown.

The boys discover that the object houses a cybernetic alien named Echo, who can only answer yes or no questions. Echo reveals its crash landing on Earth after being shot down from another planet, adding a mysterious twist to their adventure.

The group follows another map to a pawn shop where Echo continues to repair itself. Ingeniously, Echo uses Alex's phone camera to regain its sight, showcasing the group's trust in their new friend.

Emma, a classmate, stumbles upon the group and joins their adventure with Echo. This addition adds a new dynamic to their escapades as they navigate unfamiliar territories together.

While at an arcade, Alex gets caught by a security guard during a fun outing. Emma risks her safety to rescue him while Echo cleverly creates a distraction, highlighting their teamwork and bravery.

During a restaurant visit, a construction worker unknowingly steals Echo hidden in a backpack, prompting Munch to make a daring move by jumping into the truck just as it drives off, separated from the rest.

Determined to reunite with Echo and Munch, Alex and Emma assist Tuck in borrowing his brother's car. They embark on a tense mission to the construction site, where their friends are being kept captive.

Upon infiltrating the site, they confront Dr. Lawrence Masden, who reveals his intentions to capture Echo for experiments. He tries to manipulate the children into believing that Echo's departure would endanger their neighborhood.

At a scrap junkyard, Echo seems to give up under pressure, but with the encouragement of the kids, he revives and creates a diversion allowing them to escape. This moment solidifies the bond between Echo and the children.

Back at Alex's house, the spaceship key mysteriously inserts itself into the ground, revealing a hidden alien ship beneath their neighborhood. This discovery unveils the truth behind the construction project.

Alex descends into a tunnel created by the key, discovering the ship's core and allowing Echo to activate it. They bid farewell to Echo as the ship ascends, leaving their neighborhood untouched.

Though the construction project is abandoned, Alex and Munch must relocate with their families, while Tuck decides to stay. Time passes, and a reunion occurs with Alex capturing a memory skyward, hinting at the adventures they shared.

In a captivating post-credit scene, Alex discovers his phone glitching, prompting him to gather his friends. This unexpected glitch hints at the enchanting possibility that Echo has returned, adding suspense for viewers.
