A batch of newborn orphans is selected for a top-secret military program. They are raised to be disciplined, ruthless professionals, and anyone deemed unworthy is executed. The survivors become ultimate fighting machines with no understanding of the outside world.

In 2036, Sergeant Todd 3465 is one of the original trainees. Colonel Mekum unveils a new generation of genetically engineered soldiers designed to be superior and emotionless. Caine 607 defeats three original soldiers; Todd gouges out Caine's eye, falls from a height, and is knocked unconscious. Mekum orders the old soldiers disposed of and demotes the rest.

Todd limps toward a struggling colony on Arcadia 234 and is taken in by Mace and Sandra. He struggles to adapt to a peaceful, conflict-free life due to his conditioning. He forms a quiet bond with Nathan, the mute son of the couple, while flashbacks to his soldier life haunt him.

As Todd interacts with the colonists, he slips into old alertness and nearly mistakes a resident for an enemy. He experiences distressing flashbacks that blur lines between friend and foe. His conditioning makes him dangerous even in a peaceful settlement.

During a tense encounter with a coiled snake, Todd forces Nathan to face it, demonstrating survival instincts learned in combat. This moment shows him applying his training to protect the colonists. The decision unnerves the parents, who fear the implications of such lessons.

The new soldiers arrive on Arcadia and Mekum orders the colonists' community used as a training ground. The soldiers locate Mace and kill him after discovering Todd. The situation raises the stakes for the colony.

Despite being outnumbered, Todd leverages his experience and terrain knowledge to return to the colony and kill the advance squad. The fight demonstrates his enduring prowess and resourcefulness. The colonists witness a turning point in their defense.

Mekum betrays the command structure by shooting Captain Church and ordering the transport ship to lift off, intending to use a doomsday device to destroy Arcadia. The act sets the stage for a mutiny and a desperate escape.

Todd's former soldiers appear and silently side with him, taking control of the transport ship from Mekum's crew. They abandon Mekum and his aides on the planet. The colonists are evacuated as the ship departs to rescue them.

In a panic, Mekum tries to disarm the device but accidentally triggers it, killing himself and his aides. The device's explosion creates a lethal shockwave that threatens everyone left on Arcadia. Todd pilots the ship away just ahead of the blast.

Todd pilots the ship from Arcadia toward the Trinity Moons, a safe destination for the colonists. He reunites with Nathan aboard, and they look toward a hopeful future among the stars.
