George Lester spends his days chasing rainbows and quick riches. When his restless wife Pamela leaves him, he turns her family home into a discotheque, prompting her return and a threat of fraud charges. Desperate for cash, George asks old associate William “Willy” Homer, who lacks money. He steals the design for a new drill being developed by Pamela’s suitor Dudley Heath. After getting mumps, George misses the meeting and withholds the plans until he receives payment, while the buyers refuse to pay without seeing the product.
