Don’s Fountain of Youth

The family is on a Florida road trip and passes by an old Spanish fort. The nephews stay glued to their comic book while Donald watches the scenery with a mix of patience and frustration.

The car begins to overheat, forcing Donald to search for water. He finds a roadside pond and considers how to keep the trip from turning into a disaster.

Donald spots a pond sign hinting at the Fountain of Youth, and he hatches a plan to exploit it. He intends to trick the boys into thinking he has regressed in age so they might listen to him.

He tears off the top half of the sign to reveal the bottom reading Fountain of Youth and shouts for help to draw the boys' attention. The dramatic display is meant to spark curiosity and set up his pretend baby act.

Donald appears in a baby bonnet and behaves like a baby, tearing pages from the nephews' comic. The sight shocks the boys and pushes them toward considering discipline.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Donald steals an egg from a sleeping crocodile nearby and replaces it where he stood. He then places the bonnet on the egg to reinforce his pretend baby act.

From a hiding spot, Donald watches as the crocodile wakes and realizes her egg is missing. The mother roars and the boys sense danger as they watch nearby.

The crocodile lashes out with her tail, hitting Donald and sending him to sit on her egg. The frantic chase begins as the mother searches for the missing egg while the boys scramble.

The two crocodile eggs hatch and imprint on Donald, treating him as their father. This surprising turn catches everyone off guard and changes the balance of control.

Donald suffers a concussion and becomes dazed, slowing the escape as the kids watch with a mix of fear and amusement. The situation becomes tense as the pursuit continues.

The baby crocodiles approach Donald excitedly, effectively choosing him as their father over their real mother. The nephews seize the moment and rush toward the car to get away.

The family pulls away in the car, leaving the mother crocodile to chase after them while the hatchlings cry for Donald. The imprinting complicates the escape as the scene shifts toward safety.

The mother crocodile returns with her real babies, but the hatchlings’ imprinting on Donald makes them fear their biological mother. The crocodile quacks and, after the initial confusion, the babies accept their mother again.
