Vikram stars as Kanagavel, an ambitious IPS trainee who clears the entrance exams and steps onto a demanding path toward a career in law enforcement. After sharing a meal with his girlfriend Laila (Asha), Kanagavel settles the bill, only to witness a troubling incident: Ashish Vidhyarthi as Shankar behaves indecently toward Asha. Kanagavel intercedes with resolve, delivering a forceful blow that leaves Shankar incapacitated and sets off a chain of consequences that ripple through the academy and beyond.

At the Police Training Academy, the atmosphere tightens as the Chief explains the full picture: Ashish Vidhyarthi as Shankar is an egoistic, corrupt officer who wields his powers for illegal activities. The Chief goes on to reveal a brutal conspiracy in which Shankar, along with Vedhanayagam, a minister, and Aadhi Bhagavan, alias Adi, were linked to the death of his daughter. The revelation unfolds with the accompanying details that Vedhanayagam is played by Charu Haasan, and Aadhi Bhagavan, alias Adi, is portrayed by Fefsi Vijayan. The wife, Arathi, having witnessed the killing of a rival by Adi, loses her sanity and ultimately testifies in court, underscoring the high personal cost of the corruption at the heart of the case.

Armed with this knowledge, Kanagavel resolves to end Shankar’s threat once and for all. Yet Shankar already intensifies his campaign, striking first by killing Kanagavel’s friend Ashok with Adi’s help. In a swift and brutal exchange, Kanagavel retaliates by assaulting Shankar and uses Shankar’s own gun to kill Adi, creating the appearance that Shankar killed Adi in retaliation. The courtroom of war continues as Shankar murders Vedhanayagam and frames Kanagavel for the crime, setting up a tense moral trap in which public perception and official narrative seem to converge against Kanagavel.

The plot thickens when it’s revealed that Adi’s death was staged and that he remains alive, kept in captivity by Kanagavel. Unaware of this, Shankar launches a sweeping manhunt to chase down Kanagavel, Asha, and the presumed dead Adi. As the pursuit closes in, Shankar traces the trio and a fierce shootout erupts, during which Adi is fatally wounded. Seizing the moment, Shankar corners Kanagavel with lethal intent, while Adi, on his deathbed, confesses all his crimes to Asha, who records the confession for the authorities.

The arrival of the police commissioner marks a turning point: Asha presents the dying confession, exposing Shankar’s true face. With the evidence laid bare, the commissioner orders a surrender from both Kanagavel and Shankar. Shankar makes a desperate bid to escape, but Kanagavel tracks him down and ends the threat in a final, decisive confrontation. Kanagavel then surrenders to the court, but the evidence eventually leads to his release, allowing him to be recruited into the IPS, a conclusion that underscores the film’s complex interplay between duty, justice, and personal sacrifice.
