Years ago, Vishal grapples with debt while trying to carve out a career. Despite his deep musical knowledge, he experiments with other ventures that all fail, highlighting the precarious line between talent and opportunity. His perseverance in music remains constant throughout these attempts.

A letter from the principal-cum-priest invites Vishal to direct a musical play with the college's current students. He initially refuses, driven by his hatred for the institution, but eventually accepts after weighing the opportunity against his bitterness. The invitation marks his reluctant return to the college that expelled him.

Vishal is expelled by Madam Angelina Ignatius over the charge of playing the Seven Bells, a mysterious instrument kept locked in the chapel. He insists the bells played themselves, but the administration does not believe him. This event seeds the longstanding conflict between Vishal and the college.

Vishal arrives to direct the play and immediately begins revising its story during rehearsals. The play centers on Mary and Nikhil Maheshwar, and Vishal starts replacing parts of the narrative, subtly reshaping the romance. His creative interventions foreshadow his deeper connection to the Bells' mystery.

While composing a song for the play, Vishal hears a beautiful melody on a tape that continues even after he turns the tape off. An old priest reveals that Angelina's real name is Alina, and that she obtained the Seven Bells as a gift from her father William Ignatius. A man named Maheshwar arrived from Agra and fell in love with Alina's music, triggering a conflict that split the couple and left years of waiting. This backstory reframes the bells' haunting as a buried romance rather than a simple mystery.

Vishal sifts through the college library and finds ancient musical notations that he suspects were written by Maheshwar. When he attempts to play them on the Bells, the notes trigger the same night melody and his vision grows dim. He realizes Maheshwar may have been blind, which adds a new layer to the instrument's mystery.

Vishal confronts Angelina with the new clues, but an additional revelation comes from Alberto the stableman: Maheshwar was buried alive by order of William Ignatius. The skeleton’s presence in the library confirms the brutal fate tied to the Seven Bells and the family feud.

A mysterious light spills from the library as Alina confronts the truth and the bells intensify. Alina dies in the library, and two doves are seen flying away, signaling her union with Maheshwar. In the present, Vishal dedicates his award to Maheshwar and Alina by placing it above the Seven Bells.
