After a cascade of mishaps, Bill replaces his arms, legs and eventually his entire body with tin, yet his heart remains human. His metallic new form unnerves Jane, who becomes attracted to the soulless version of him. The story follows whether the tin‑clad Bill can reclaim the love he once had.
