Takechi’s third feature adapts two short stories by Jun’ichirō Tanizaki and portrays the lurid, violently erotic dreams of a writer, his wife and his sister after a night of drinking and attending sex shows. The government imposed extensive censorship, cutting roughly 20 % of the original runtime; the excised footage is now considered lost, and the film was heavily censored before it was permitted to be released.
