Janssen plays a former CIA operative turned author, writing non‑fiction exposés—timed with the Phillip Agee controversy—and spy novels. In Athens he catches the eye of CIA chief Arthur Kennedy, who is trying to silence him. While pursuing the case that interests him, he evades Kennedy’s traps and assists his former colleague Maurizio Merli, who is struggling with personal problems.
