At the end of “Consecration,” it’s revealed that Grace is not an ordinary woman but actually a witch from medieval times who has been imprisoned beneath the Scottish church for centuries. Over time, she was freed by an earthquake in 1993 and subsequently adopted by a couple in Scotland, which explains her complex history and disconnect from her true origins. The film suggests that there are two versions of Grace existing simultaneously—one as her true, supernatural self, and another as a sort of guardian or angelic presence that exists in a different plane of time. This duality manifests through visions, hallucinations, and various supernatural signs, hinting at a possible time loop where Grace can see and influence both past and future events.

Throughout the story, it becomes clear that Grace’s brother Michael was also embroiled in this supernatural conflict, having discovered Grace’s true nature and trying to expose and protect her. His efforts led him to the convent where he was tortured and ultimately took his own life, believing he was seeking redemption for his sins. The movie suggests that neither God nor Grace intended to alter Michael’s fate, implying that his death was predestined. As Grace confronts her own identity and the truth about her powers, she decides to reject her role as a vessel of evil and embraces her supernatural strength for good. Her journey culminates when she attempts to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff, believing that her existence as the relic must end to prevent further harm. However, it turns out that she survives, revealing that her powers are greater than she realized.

In the climax, Grace is pursued by Mother Superior, who seeks to kill her to prevent her from becoming a threat. Just as Mother Superior is about to shoot her, a car unexpectedly crashes into her, killing her and ending her threat. It’s ambiguous whether this death was caused directly by Grace’s influence, the guardian angel, or mere coincidence. In the final moments, Grace is shown alive and more confident in her supernatural abilities. She no longer believes in the church’s dogma but instead embraces her true nature, now armed with the understanding that she has power over life and death. The film ends with her walking free in London, symbolizing her emancipation from religious repression and her acceptance of her supernatural identity. The ending hints that while the fight against religious extremism and oppression played a role in her journey, ultimately, Grace’s liberation is about accepting her true self and harnessing her powers for good rather than evil. The story leaves viewers pondering the thin line between faith, darkness, and the supernatural, emphasizing that sometimes understanding and acceptance can lead to true freedom.
