Clown in a Cornfield

In 1991, a group of teenagers gather for a party near a cornfield by the Baypen syrup factory. Jessica and Tyler sneak into the cornfield, but the night takes a deadly turn when Jessica is found with a severe knife wound, leading to Tyler's gruesome encounter with the clown Frendo.

In the present day, Quinn Maybrook relocates to Kettle Springs with her father, Dr. Glenn. Having lost her mother to an overdose the previous year, their strained relationship becomes evident as they discover a dead animal in their fireplace upon arrival.

Quinn starts her new school and experiences tension with her bitter teacher, Mr. Vern. Despite getting detention, she makes friends with a group of classmates who share their interest in creating home movies featuring Frendo.

Later, Quinn and Glenn visit a diner where Sheriff Dunne warns her about the local teens and their involvement in the fire that destroyed the syrup factory. Ignoring his advice, Quinn sneaks off to join her new friends instead.

At a get-together with her new friends, Quinn witnesses Tucker and Matt reenacting a horrific scene with Frendo that frightens her. During this time, Cole opens up about his guilt related to his sister's death, deepening their bond.

Tucker is at home when he sees what he believes to be a prank by Matt. However, he soon discovers a jack-in-the-box in his closet, and moments later, Frendo brutally kills him, marking the first of many tragic losses.

During the Founder's Day parade, Cole's father, Mayor Hill, leads the townsfolk while the teens gather for the festivities. Suddenly, a bomb is dropped by someone in a Frendo mask, causing chaos and leading to the arrest of Quinn and her friends by Sheriff Dunne.

Matt is working out alone at home when Frendo appears and brutally kills him using a handsaw. The escalating violence in Kettle Springs begins to unfold as the body count rises.

Quinn sneaks out with Cole to attend a party by the cornfield, where the atmosphere quickly takes a dark turn. They discover the gruesome sight of Ginger collapsing with an arrow in her back, followed by Matt's head being tossed at them.

As Frendo begins to attack the partygoers with arrows, Rust steps in to protect the group by shooting at the clown. In the ensuing chaos, they realize that a group of townsfolk dressed as Frendos is behind the attacks.

After learning that Quinn is in danger, Glenn attempts to rescue her but gets captured by one of the Frendos. He cleverly distracts the clown and manages to stab him, leading to an escape attempt.

Quinn and Janet enter the Tillerson house, only to discover it is a trap. Janet is horrifically killed by a Frendo, while Quinn fights back with a pitchfork, realizing the extent of the townsfolk's madness.

Quinn finds herself in the syrup factory, where Mayor Hill and Sheriff Dunne reveal their twisted tradition of killing to preserve the town's reputation. In a dramatic turn, Glenn arrives just in time to disrupt their sinister plans.

In a series of confrontations, Quinn and Glenn, alongside Rust, fight against the remaining Frendos. The group manages to save Cole and finally defeat Mr. Vern, marking the end of their terrifying ordeal.

Eventually, Quinn prepares for college with a renewed relationship with her father, who is now running for mayor. As she bids farewell to her friends, she offloads a jack-in-the-box from her car, symbolizing her escape from the horrors of Kettle Springs.
