For nearly a century, the Asahiza theater in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, has screened classic films, maintaining a unique place in the community. Facing dwindling audiences, the theater's manager, Yasuzo Morita, reluctantly decides to close its doors, planning to destroy the collection of aging 35 mm films. Just as he prepares to burn them, a young woman named Rika Motegi arrives from Tokyo, determined to save the beloved Asahiza and its cinematic treasures.
