Issa, also known as Chiko, is a Turkish immigrant living in Hamburg with his best friend Tibet, driven by a fierce hunger for wealth and respect by any means. Drawn into the world of Brownie, a music producer who also deals drugs, the two men are tasked with moving several kilograms of marijuana for him. The arrangement quickly sours when Brownie discovers that Tibet has skimmed profits, and he punishes Tibet by hammering a nail into his foot, a brutal reminder of the price of betrayal.
Chiko resolves to avenge Tibet by shooting Brownie, but the moment never comes to fruition. Instead, he tucks away the gun and agrees to Brownie’s offer of a lucrative cocaine deal, hoping the deal can shield him from immediate danger. Tibet, meanwhile, driven by revenge, hatches a plan to confront Brownie and enlists their mutual friend Curly to drive him to the source. But fate bends differently; as they shadow Brownie, a chance encounter with Chiko forces them to turn away, letting Brownie slip from their grasp.
The tension between Chiko and Tibet erupts into a bitter argument, and Tibet ends up injuring Curly with an inadvertent shot. Riding a wave of hubris, Chiko launches into an extravagant stage of life—leasing a sleek upscale apartment, cruising in a sports car, and even opening an eponymous restaurant that bears his name. At Chiko’s request, Brownie fires Meryem from his service, and she moves into his apartment with him, complicating loyalties and romantic entanglements alike.
Tibet, now burdened by renal disease and dependent on regular dialysis, sinks deeper into addiction while nursing a craving for revenge. He lies in wait at Brownie’s recording studio and fires on him, missing the mark. Brownie discovers Tibet is still alive and responds with ruthless resolve, sending his enforcers to Tibet’s mother to locate him, where they tragically beat her to death. Upon learning of his mother’s death, Tibet’s heartbreak collides with Chiko’s hunger for vengeance, and Chiko travels to Brownie to finish him in front of Brownie’s wife and child.
What begins as a tightly wound pursuit of power and money spirals into a fatal reckoning as the two friends confront the consequences of their choices. Initially planning to escape alone, Chiko tries to coax Tibet to join him, but the bond between them collapses in a final, devastating act of betrayal: Tibet fatally stabs Chiko as they embrace in a moment that seals their fates.
