Carry On Up the Jungle

Professor Inigo Tinkle explains the goal of the expedition. Lady Evelyn Bagley funds the venture and the team is led by the lecherous Bill Boosey with Upsidasi as guide. Tinkle's assistant Claude Chumley and Lady Bagley's maid June join, and they set off into Africa in search of the elusive Oozlum bird.

A gorilla terrorizes the campsite, warning the travelers that they have entered Nosha land. The group realizes they are in danger from a tribe of cannibals. Tension rises as they press on with caution.

Lady Bagley confesses she is searching for her long-lost husband Walter and their son Cecil, who disappeared twenty years earlier on their honeymoon. She hopes Cecil's nappy pin might help locate him. The revelation reshapes the journey's purpose for everyone.

June discovers an oasis and saves Ug from drowning, sparking a romance between them. The budding relationship adds a personal stake to the expedition. They begin to imagine a future together amid the peril.

Ug wanders into Lady Bagley's tent, mistaking it for June's, and is found wearing Cecil's nappy pin. Lady Bagley is astonished to realize Ug is actually Cecil, not the rival she expected. She faints as the truth sinks in.

The Noshas abduct the group, intending to kill them. Ug accidentally catapults himself into the Nosha camp, starting a fire. In the chaos, Ug, June, and Upsidasi escape while the others are captured.

An all-female Lubby-Dubby tribe led by Leda rescues the travellers and takes them to Aphrodisia. There they meet the tribe's king Tonka, who turns out to be Walter Bagley, the missing husband. Evelyn is enraged by the discovery and the situation worsens.

Tonka, the king of Aphrodisia, is revealed to be Walter Bagley who was taken by the Noshas years ago. Evelyn laments that she has seen him but still cannot find Cecil. Meanwhile, June and Ug begin a life together, hinting at a future apart from the men.

The Lubby-Dubbies explain that the tribe needs the men to prevent extinction, as no males have been born in Aphrodisia for over a century. The men see a dream of freedom, but Leda makes it clear they have no intention of letting them go. The balance of power shifts within Aphrodisia.

Upsidasi arrives disguised as a woman, claiming to have brought soldiers to save them. Ug and June search for their friends, and Ug summons a stampede of animals to create chaos that aids the escape. The plan begins to unfold as tensions rise.

During the confusion, Tinkle snatches the Oozlum bird and the group escapes along with Tonka. The Lubby-Dubbies' pursuit falters as the focus shifts to reclaiming their territory. The escape marks a turning point in the journey.

The party makes their way back to England with Tonka (Walter) in tow. Lady Bagley is finally reunited with Ug, while the rest of the group contends with their extraordinary voyage. The Oozlum mystery remains unresolved in their minds.

Back in England, Tinkle unveils the Oozlum bird to his audience, only to find that it has apparently vanished up inside itself. The myth persists as a cheeky closing twist. The audience remains mystified but amused by the legend.

June and Ug settle into a happy life together, raising a baby in a treehouse in the suburbs. Ug goes to work wearing a bowler hat, suit, and no shoes, embracing a quirky domestic bliss after their adventures. Their unlikely romance endures beyond the journey.
