In Colombia, Commandante Veracruz takes charge of a fresh unit and Sam heads to a local clinic to warn the villagers of looming danger. Ben Delaney and Amanda Maples dismiss Sam's warning as alarmist, leaving him to piece together Veracruz's plans. The tension centers on whether warning will be believed in time.

Sam uncovers Veracruz’s plan to attack the clinic to manufacture an aid crisis and justify foreign intervention. He sounds the alarm again, but the clinic staff remain skeptical, forcing him to act alone to protect patients. He braces for a violent strike that could worsen the already desperate humanitarian situation.

Beatriz, a local orphan, becomes a pivotal ally who urges Sam that Veracruz is on the move. The team then flees into the surrounding countryside.

Sam's encouragement drives a graymail arrangement that secures exoneration for the team and wins favorable futures for the survivors. The deal also ensures Sam's honorable discharge with pension, a Miami ticket, a change of clothes, and a celebratory beer.
