Broadcast Signal Intrusion

James works as a video archivist for a local television station and is still grieving his wife Hannah, who disappeared three years ago. He buries himself in work, spending his nights digitizing old broadcast tapes. This obsessive routine shapes his days and foreshadows the lengths he will go to uncover the truth.

While reviewing footage one evening, he encounters a strange broadcast intrusion—a pirate video interrupting normal programming. The clip features a distorted white rubber mask and a garbled voice that unsettles him deeply. The eerie image hints at a deeper message behind the noise.

His curiosity leads him to research the intrusion's origins, discovering similar incidents in late 1987 and the early 1990s. These cases are tied to disappearances of several women, and one victim bears a striking resemblance to Hannah. The connection deepens his fixation, turning inquiry into a personal quest.

He contacts former FCC investigator Dr. Stuart Lithgow to get answers. Lithgow dismisses the inquiry, saying the case was abandoned and too difficult to solve. Frustrated but undeterred, James continues to dig.

In the night, James meets Alice, a mysterious young woman with her own troubled past, who becomes a temporary ally. Together they pursue clues embedded in the footage, following a trail through obscure signals and numbers. Her arrival deepens the danger and the sense that someone is watching.

As they dig deeper, they decode Morse code, strange audio signals, and phone numbers hidden within the videos. Each clue draws them closer to the source, while the tapes hint at a larger, darker conspiracy. The tension mounts as James's grip on reality begins to slip.

James's paranoia grows; he feels pursued and begins to hallucinate masked figures from the tapes. The line between investigator and victim blurs as the intrusions invade his psyche. Alice's disappearance compounds his isolation.

Alice vanishes without a trace, leaving James more isolated and convinced someone is manipulating him. Her absence heightens the danger and pushes him further into the mystery. He clings to the clues while doubting his own sanity.

On the drive back to the city, James experiences intensifying broadcast interference in his car and begins to hallucinate more vividly. A road incident follows as he hits a young woman standing in the dark, with her face appearing artificial and black liquid oozing from her mouth. This terrifying encounter closes the drive and leaves his sanity shattered.

The film ends with lingering questions about Hannah's disappearance and the true source of the intrusions. James's obsession has consumed him, and the boundary between truth and manipulation remains unclear. The final image hints at the consequences of his pursuit.
