Their destination is the South African Union, a beacon of stability and prosperity. They attempt to reach Cape Town aboard a freighter carrying other refugees, but are callously abandoned in small boats off the coast of Namibia. A perilous journey ensues, marked by rough seas and tragedy when young Nick is lost at sea, leaving his fate uncertain.
