Blood Theatre

Dean Murdock purchases the abandoned Spotlite Theater, the site of a past massacre. He informs his employees about the acquisition and plans to renovate and run the venue. To motivate them, he promises a $1,000 bonus to one of the team after a test run, much to Miss Blackwell's skepticism.

Jennifer's two cheerleader friends arrive at the abandoned theater to meet her. The building is empty, and they are brutally stabbed to death by a mysterious man in a tuxedo. The killings foreshadow the killer's continued presence at the venue.

During a screening in the main theater, Selena causes a scene and is escorted out by Miss Blackwell. The incident highlights tensions surrounding the theater's troubled reopening.

Jennifer, Adrian, and Malcolm go to the theater to clean and explore. They find old film reels upstairs and decide to project them. The film shows a staged play with terrified spectators as smoke fills the auditorium, the projector catches fire, and Jennifer is threatened by a smiling elderly man in a tuxedo who vanishes.

Selena and Darcy request transfers to the theater, and Dean Murdock approves. This signals shifting loyalties and potential targets among staff ahead of the opening.

Adrian is alone at the theater when a typewriter begins typing on its own, producing the line: 'Don't be hasty. This theater could be yours.' The eerie incident hints at a malevolent force connected to the venue's past.

Lisa and Dee-Dee, two other Spotlite employees, drop off Jennifer's old locker contents and are attacked in the auditorium, being stabbed to death by the killer. Their deaths heighten the sense that danger stalks the theater.

The next day, Darcy becomes locked inside the auditorium and is attacked, dragged beneath the stage. Jennifer, Adrian, and Malcolm hear her screams but find no trace when they search, leaving her whereabouts unknown.

Opening night arrives but Murdock is nowhere to be found. Selena arrives panicked, seeking Darcy, while Adrian locks her in a room to keep the news crew calm and prevent a scene for the local coverage.

In the projection room, Adrian is attacked by the killer. He fights back, but Malcolm is electrocuted on the projector, and Adrian is decapitated by a falling window, escalating the night’s violence.

Locked in an upstairs room, Selena calls Miss Blackwell on a telephone. An invisible force bursts into the room, and Miss Blackwell hears Selena's screams as the phone receiver crumbles in her hands.

Jennifer enters the auditorium and finds herself alone facing the killer—the original theater owner who carried out the massacre years earlier. He envisions Jennifer as his former lover, an usherette, but she stabs him to death in self-defense.

Jennifer phones the police from a pay phone outside the theater to report the night's chaos and the killer's demise. The formal investigation is now underway.

Back at the other theater, Murdock belatedly returns from a trip as the chaos winds down. Miss Blackwell quits her job, signaling the end of the dynamic that helped run the operation.
