A Hindu mythological drama directed by Vijay, retelling the story of Prahlada. It features Rajkumar, Saritha, Puneeth Rajkumar and Ananth Nag, with music composed by T. G. Lingappa. The picture earned Karnataka State Film Awards for sound recording and cinematography. It is the fourth Kannada adaptation of the tale—following the 1942 and 1958 Bhakta Prahlada and the 1960 Dashavathara—and the only one filmed in colour. The film was also dubbed into Telugu as Narasimhaavataaram.
