After a wild and unpredictable night in Las Vegas, Abby Abernathy and Travis Maddox find themselves waking up as unexpected newlyweds. Their lives take a twist when Travis receives an ominous call from Benny, the man who previously attempted to manipulate Abby into paying off her father’s debts through a poker game. Benny warns them not to leave town if they hope to escape settling their debt to him.

To escape the chaos, Abby and Travis, alongside their close friends Shepley and America, opt for a helicopter ride to a luxurious resort in Gatito, Mexico for what should be a blissful honeymoon. Upon their arrival, they are warmly welcomed by their host, Sancho, who is accompanied by a lively mariachi band, setting the stage for their adventure.

During a cozy dinner, Abby surprises Travis with a pros and cons list regarding their marriage annulment. In a humorous twist, Travis pretends to feel ill just to watch the NBA finals with Shepley, but his plan is abruptly derailed when Abby realizes what’s happening. This slight mischief illuminates the humorous yet tumultuous nature of their new bond.

When an unexpected power outage occurs at the resort, Abby shares her lifelong dream of living in Paris, which stirs up jealousy in Travis. However, they soon find themselves reconciling in an intimate moment by the pool. The following morning, a surprising scene unfolds as Travis discovers Abby playfully juggling with a shirtless Manuel, a local priest-in-training, inflaming his jealousy. A confrontation ensues, leading them to a fight that spills onto the beach, where Travis is quickly surrounded by topless beachgoers, making matter worse when Abby decides to join in the fun. Their antics earn them a stay in a Mexican jail, but they are soon rescued by Sancho.

Back in the U.S., Benny learns about the couple’s escapades in Mexico and insists to his boyfriend Darius that they need to go down to Mexico to deal with the debt. However, complications arise when Darius decides to leave Benny instead.

Amid these challenges, Travis confesses to Abby his longing for a bachelor party, prompting his brothers to arrive in Mexico to join the festivities. The night takes a comedic turn when the same two women who flirted with Travis earlier answer Abby’s FaceTime call, exacerbating the situation and pushing Abby to seek her own form of revenge.

In a twist of fate, Abby and America find themselves at the home of a charming woman they encountered at the spa, who turns out to be the mother of Parker Hayes, a guy Abby had a brief romance with in college. In a playful attempt to take a selfie, Abby sneaks into bed with Parker while he’s asleep. The next morning, however, Travis’ discovery of Abby in bed with Parker leads to chaos and a subsequent fight. Their troubles drive them to seek out counseling from Manuel, yet Travis ultimately storms out.

As Abby tries to address the fallout with Travis, she crosses paths with Benny. In a surprising revelation, he claims he is in Mexico not to threaten them, but rather to mend things with Darius. This unexpected encounter leads Abby and Travis to return to the resort and shake hands on their misunderstandings. Ultimately, they celebrate their connection with a wedding reception at the resort, allowing them to agree on moving forward without tallying any points in their relationship—embracing love instead of complications.
