Arthur: Malediction

Eight-year-old Alex and his friends gather to watch the Arthur film trilogy. The moment fuels Alex's dream of becoming a Minimoy. This friendship around the films sets the tone for what follows years later.

Ten years later, the now 18-year-old Alex disguises himself as Arthur to evade the gendarmes. His friends prepare for his birthday party, keeping the connection to the films alive. The group slides from fantasy into a real-life mystery.

Samantha arrives dressed as Princess Selenia and they celebrate with cake and presents. They watch the films again and learn that Momo and Pilou found the old house used as a film set. The friends decide to seek out the house, eager for a shared adventure.

The group heads toward the suspected house and encounters a wary atmosphere in a quiet town. Locals keep a close watch on them, adding a sense of unease. A stray encounter hints that the path ahead will be perilous.

They reach a house where an inhabitant with his dogs warns them away and shoots his gun to scare them off. Startled, the friends flee back to their car and reconsider their plan. The ominous warning marks the dangers lurking around the house.

A fallen tree blocks the road to the house, forcing the group to continue on foot. Renata marks the path with ribbons to help them find their way back if needed. They press on with growing tension and resolve.

The friends explore the house and uncover film props and a hatch leading to the basement. Upstairs they find camping equipment belonging to Momo and Pilou. Alex and Samantha pair off to explore the basement while the others regroup.

Jean appears in full Arthur makeup, heightening the surreal vibe. The group sets up camp near the house, and Alex and Samantha share a kiss as nerves settle in. Alex has a nightmare about the danger surrounding their gathering.

The next day, food is eaten and Douglas leaves to buy supplies, only to be killed by the attackers. Maxime and Dominique discover Momo hanging upside down from a tree; Maxime is trapped in a bear trap while trying to help, and Momo falls to his death. Dominique frees Maxime and heads back to the house.

The group finds a hole that resembles a gateway to the Minimoy kingdom. They lower Jean with a camera, but something pulls him down, and Alex saves him by cutting the rope. Tensions rise and Renata suggests they go home to stay safe.

The group tries to regroup as danger closes in. Samantha is kidnapped after a front porch swing is cut, and Pilou is found dead. A strange monster knocks out Alex, and the remaining friends are rounded up by the Matassalai.

The paranoid inhabitant of the house rescues Alex, Samantha, and Jean and orders them to leave forever. Police arrive to recover the bodies of the attackers and some of Alex's friends, including Mathilde who died from a bee allergy. It is revealed the attackers were drug-addicted teenagers role-playing Arthur and other heroes, a tragic consequence of their fantasies.
