Aqua Man

During a stormy night in 1985, lighthouse keeper Thomas Curry finds an unconscious woman with a wound on the shore and shelters her. She introduces herself as Atlanna, queen of Atlantis, and they begin a romantic relationship. Over time, they live together and have a son, Arthur.

Atlanna fights off Atlantean commandos attempting to take her back to Atlantis and manages to escape, leaving Thomas, Arthur, and her trident behind. She promises to return someday but must leave for her safety, emphasizing her love for her family.

As a boy, Arthur is taunted by bullies at the aquarium, but he demonstrates control over sea creatures, causing them to gather behind him and glowing eyes, revealing his Atlantean heritage and abilities.

Twenty years later, Arthur, now an adult, rescues pirates attacking a submarine. He fights off the pirates effortlessly and refuses to save Jesse Kane and his son David after they kill innocents, marking him as a reluctant hero.

Arthur reunites with Thomas at the docks, and they watch a news report confirming Arthur’s identity as Aquaman. He is recognized for his heroics, and Arthur begins to accept his role as a protector of both land and sea.

In Atlantis, Orm plots to unite other underwater kingdoms to attack surface dwellers, claiming it as a defense move, while secretly planning an assault on the surface world. Nereus sides with Orm after being convinced by an attack on Atlantis.

Princess Mera warns Arthur about Orm’s war plans and informs him of the existence of the Trident of Atlan, which can make him king. She urges him to take action, but Arthur remains hesitant due to his mistrust of Atlantis.

A giant tidal wave devastates the mainland, prompting Arthur and Mera to work together to save Thomas. This incident convinces Arthur to confront his destiny and join Mera in stopping Orm’s plans.

Arthur and Mera find the sunken ship that holds Atlan’s Trident. They activate a hologram that guides them to its location and then reunite with Atlanna, who reveals she escaped her execution and confirms the Trident’s location behind a waterfall.

Arthur faces Karathen, a giant guardian, who questions his worthiness. Using his power and communication skills, Arthur proves himself and gains the Trident, transforming into a true king of Atlantis.

Orm, now Ocean Master, prepares to attack surface lands with his army. Arthur, Mera, and Atlantean forces fight back, leading to a showdown where Arthur defeats Orm, shattering his Trident and asserting his leadership.

Orm is taken captive after surrendering, and Arthur, with Atlanna’s return, is accepted as the new king of Atlantis. He spares Orm’s life, recognizing their shared history and his own growth.

Thomas is surprised to find Atlanna alive and returns to her, sharing a heartfelt embrace and kiss, symbolizing family reunion after years apart. Atlantis recognizes Arthur as their rightful king, bringing peace.

Arthur narrates how destiny united his parents and led him to become Aquaman. He embraces his role as protector of the seas and leader of Atlantis, accepting his place in the world.

David, now alive, is found by conspiracy theorist Stephen Shin. He offers to help Stephen find and kill Arthur, hinting at future conflicts and a potential resurgence of villainy.
