Four Afro-Brazilian girls from Vila Brasilândia quit the backing vocals for a male rap group and form Antônia. They dream of making a living from their music. They are discovered by manager Marcelo Diamante, who sees their potential. They begin to sing rap, MPB, pop and soul in bars and middle-class parties.

Antônia performs in bars and middle-class parties, blending genres and building a reputation. Marcelo Diamante helps them navigate the music scene and push toward wider fame. The group starts to envision a future beyond backing vocal work.

Duda's gay partner is killed by a gang, and Duda himself is injured in the attack. The violence brings the harsh realities of their neighborhood into sharp relief and tests Antônia’s unity. Duda recovers, but the incident leaves a lasting impact on the group’s dynamics.
