In 1962, brothers Buffalo Bob and Horatio P. Huntington successfully run a traveling circus. Their contrasting personalities create an intriguing dynamic as they entertain audiences across the country.

During one of the shows, Esmerelda introduces her beautiful niece Talia to the brothers. Bob becomes captivated by Talia, who eventually only has eyes for him.

In 1964, Bob and Talia proudly announce their engagement, leading to Horatio's fury. He confronts Bob, urging him to choose between family and love.

On their wedding day, Esmerelda gifts Bob and Talia a mysterious box, which they later learn contains magical animal crackers. This gift is essential in starting their new circus venture.

Years later, Bob's nephew Owen marries his childhood friend Zoe at the circus. The joyful ceremony hints at nostalgia and the continuation of family traditions.

After the wedding, Owen learns that he must work as a taste tester at Zoe's father's dog biscuit factory. This job is filled with oddities as he faces off against his eccentric co-worker Binkley.
