Ang Darling Kong Aswang

A sleepy village is shaken at night by a marauding group of aswang led by Batang Jean Garcia. One of its members, Elisa Cristine Reyes and her mother Ida Agot Isidro are caught by Barang along with her three daughters—Beta Denise Laurel, Alpha Jackie Rice, and Keka Empress Schuck—all of them found feasting on animal flesh, yet somehow they manage to escape. The danger lurking in the night casts a long shadow over everyone, foreshadowing a curse that would blur the lines between love and doom.

Victor Lagman [Vic Sotto], a widower and devoted father, raises two daughters, Aileen Barbie Forteza and Angel Mika Dela Cruz, while living with his stern father Do Dante Rivero, a village captain, and his peculiar cousin Tom Ritchie D’Horsie. When Elisa and Ida’s actions become known, Barang warns that consequences will follow if they continue down the path of human flesh. The danger feels personal for Victor, whose world begins to tilt as he crosses paths with Elisa and is drawn to her striking beauty, even as Ida does not quickly dismiss the possibility of true love breaking the curse. Victor decides to pursue Elisa, a decision that unsettles Aileen and Angel, who worry about his future and the delicate balance of their family.

As Victor and Elisa begin to court each other, Elisa privately confesses that she is an aswang. The revelation shakes Victor at first, but he remains resolute, drawn by the conviction that love can endure against any curse. Do tries to mediate, and at one point suggests a Church ceremony, while Ida leans toward a simpler civil wedding to align with the moon’s cycles. The full moon ceremony would reveal Elisa’s transformation, a stark reminder of the life she leads and the promise she hopes to keep. Barang presses the danger, and Elisa and Ida seek help from Nana Simang [Luz Fernandez], who has long known the village’s legends and secrets. The looming threat intensifies when three ferocious dogs—believed to be the three sisters—arrive at Banong’s house, and Alpha, Beta, and Keka attack Victor’s home. In the chaos, Elisa urges Victor to salt the house as a protective measure, and the family rallies around this shared hope. Nana Simang provides counsel, but the danger remains all too real, pushing them toward a fateful choice about love, loyalty, and survival.

Victor, Do, and Tom eventually confront Barang’s lair, aided by Mang Pekweng’s instruments to combat aswangs. They fight through the night, confronting Gino and Joaquin and inching toward a rescue that could save Elisa. Banong’s death marks a brutal turning point, and Ida’s fate remains shrouded in uncertainty as the trio presses on. The mission culminates in a tense confrontation with Barang, whose ruthlessness tests every vow of protection the group has made.

As the plan to reach the Church gains pace with Aileen and Angel, Tom, and Jerry, the looming danger intensifies. Do finally reveals the family secret: their ancestors were once aswangs, and only through a path of atonement—and with Father Anton’s help—did their lineage turn away from that darkness. Elisa travels to Barang to learn what happened to Ida, only to become a sacrifice within the sect’s ritual, a chilling reminder of the costs of love in a world haunted by monsters.

Victor, Tom, and Jerry press forward, using Mang Pekweng’s instruments to intervene in Barang’s lair and attempt a daring rescue. The group fights through a barrage of threats and manages to kill Gino and Joaquin, buying time to escape. But Barang is relentless, and the danger escalates with each step toward safety. A dramatic chase leads them toward the Church, where the hope of sanctuary meets the ferocity of the aswang army.

In the final confrontation, Victor carries Elisa toward safety, but the battle takes a devastating turn. The Cross held by Father Anton becomes a beacon of hope as Elisa’s curse appears to break, and she regains a sense of peace. Yet, just as triumph seems within reach, Tom and Jerry reveal their other, terrifying side; they become aswangs, leaving Victor, Elisa, and the remaining allies screaming in horror as the dream of freedom slips away. The night ends on a chilling note, with the fragile line between love and danger firmly reestablished, and the village confronting the heavy cost of confronting the monstrous within and around them.
