A fortuneteller tells Hidari Taisho he must slay 1,000 foxes to conquer the land, so the despised hunter Akuemon is hired. In retaliation the foxes send a female fox posing as his wife. Their uneasy partnership turns to love even as she mourns her fallen kin. The film is the sixth Lion Books entry and Tezuka Makoto’s first animated adaptation of his father Osamu Tezuka’s work.
