Rein, a Beast Tamer who once fought alongside heroes to defeat the Demon King, is cast out as useless and chooses a carefree life as an adventurer. During the adventurer‑entry test he saves a girl, Kanade, from a monster; she slays it in a single blow. Kanade belongs to a powerful cat‑people tribe, and her attraction to Rein’s talent and gentle nature leads her to ask, “Would you try to tame me?” He forms a contract with the strongest cat‑eared girl, beginning his new adventuring life, while his former comrades and other formidable races take notice of his growing power.
