Aisha

Aisha Kapoor (Sonam Kapoor) is a wealthy, young woman from an upper-class background who believes she is an expert at matchmaking, especially among her friends. She also runs an event management business, organizing weddings for the couples she pairs up. Aisha’s life is centered around her superficial lifestyle and her schemes to match people, which often attract criticism from her family and friends.

Her aunt Chitra Kanwar Singh (Anuradha Patel), a former Miss India, is married to Col. Raghuvendra Singh, and their relationship is part of the social circle Aisha navigates. Her father, Mr Kapoor, and her late mother are also significant figures in her life, especially since she is very close to her aunt after her mother’s passing.

The story gets underway when Aisha sets her sights on creating a match between her middle-class friend Shefali Thakur (Amrita Puri) and a charming sweetmeat business tycoon and her acquaintance, Randhir Ghambir (Cyrus Sahukar). This not only provides her with a new project but also serves as a way to keep Randhir, who was pursuing her romantically, at bay. Aisha’s attempts involve lavish makeovers, orchestrating encounters, and using her influence to facilitate romantic moments. For instance, she takes Shefali to Randhir’s polo match and cleverly arranges for them to spend a night in a hotel, hoping sparks will fly, but the plan backfires when they end up walking back to find a cab.

Meanwhile, Shefali develops feelings for Dhruv Singh (Arunoday Singh), the stepson of her aunt Chitra. She also crosses paths with Aarti Menon (Lisa Haydon), a woman from New York City introduced by Arjun Burman (Abhay Deol), Arjun’s rivalry with Aisha sparking jealousy and competition. Aishа, feeling threatened by Aarti, becomes antagonistic toward her, leading to tense exchanges.

The story takes a turn during a river-rafting camping trip organized by Randhir, which becomes a turning point for many characters. Shefali falls into the river, prompting Arjun to risk himself in a rescue that sparks her feelings for him. That same night, Randhir confesses his love for Aisha, leaving her confused about her own feelings and her reputation as a matchmaker. Her realization that she might be falling for Arjun (Abhay Deol)) causes her to question her previous manipulations, especially after she dismisses Saurabh Lamba (Anand Tiwari), her childhood friend from a modest background, as unsuitable.

As relationships develop, Pinky Bose (Ira Dubey) starts to fall in love with Randhir, leading to her engagement with him. This causes a rift with Aisha, who feels her friend is superficial and unappreciative of her. The family’s social circle also grows more complex with Mr Kapoor and Col. Singh inviting Aarti more frequently, and Dhruv beginning to pursue her despite Aisha’s disapproval.

A major clash occurs when Aisha attempts to match Shefali with Dhruv after catching him kissing Aarti. Shefali confesses her love for Arjun, which shocks Aisha, who admits she never considered him as a romantic option but as a friend or project. When Shefali confronts her about her true feelings, Aisha recognizes her own love for Arjun, which she had previously overlooked. This realization hits her hard, as she finally understands that her arrogance and control over others’ lives were misguided.

Feeling remorseful, Aisha seeks to mend her ways and apologizes to Shefali. Despite Dhruv and Aarti’s engagement, Aisha chooses to stay away, thinking her love for Arjun will only bring heartbreak if revealed. In an emotional conversation with her father, Mr Kapoor, she admits her love for Arjun. Her father encourages her to confess her feelings, as he has known Arjun since childhood and believes they are meant to be.

Deciding to act on her feelings, Aisha heads to the engagement party to confess her love. However, in her haste, she mistakenly enters a different wedding venue, leading Shefali to overhear her private declaration. This prompts a heartfelt talk between Shefali and Aisha in the restroom, where Aisha admits she has found her love in Saurabh, whom she had previously overlooked.

In the end, Arjun and Aisha meet again, share memories from their childhood, and confess their love, culminating in a kiss. The story closes with a reflection during Dhruv and Aarti’s wedding, where Aisha emphasizes that love is spontaneous and unpredictable, proving that some things cannot be planned or forced. This film explores themes of love, friendship, ego, and self-discovery, ultimately showing that genuine feelings often arrive unexpectedly and that true happiness lies in embracing them.
