Abraxas, Guardian of the Universe

On Sargacia, Abraxas and Secundus serve as Finders, an ancient intergalactic police force. Abraxas has been a Finder for almost 10,000 years. Each Finder carries an Answer Box, a device that functions as a communicator and scanner, capable of detecting objects by vibrational signatures.

Secundus travels to Earth seeking the power of a negative universe and the solution to the Anti-Life Equation. He impregnates the first human female he finds by hovering his hand over her belly. The resulting child will be the Culmator, a prodigy destined to solve the equation.

Abraxas is ordered to kill Sonia before she can give birth, but he cannot bring himself to do it, leaving her and the baby alive. Sonia gives birth to a baby boy on the same day. The child will become the Culmator.

Abraxas corners Secundus and the Finders lock onto their location, transporting Secundus to Tyrannus 7, the prison planet. Abraxas is ordered to kill Sonia but spares her, allowing her to raise Tommy. The baby remains with his mother as the threat of Secundus looms.

Sonia's parents kick her out of the house, upset about the pregnancy and curious about who the father is. They are more concerned with social judgment than the baby's fate. Sonia and Tommy begin life apart from her family's protection.

Tommy does not speak but possesses latent, extraordinary abilities. When he is picked on at school, he uses those powers to make the bully wet his pants. Sonia declines to admit the problem when the principal contacts her.

Secundus breaks free from Tyrannus 7 and teleports to Earth. The Finders dispatch Abraxas to pursue him, but their transport paths cross and their weapons are destroyed. Secundus reconstitutes himself and continues his rampage.

Secundus recharges his Answer Box at an automotive shop using a fuse box. He tests the Anti-Life Equation on the shop-owner, causing the owner to explode. He then steals cars and kills innocents as he searches for the Culmator.

Secundus locates Sonia's residence, where Sonia and Tommy are away at the cinema, and prepares to test the Anti-Life Equation on the boy. The danger looms as the target is close to realization.

Abraxas arrives to intervene as Secundus attacks Tommy. They fight, and Abraxas is stabbed in the stomach. Secundus escapes, vowing that all will be destroyed.

Sonia returns with Tommy to safety and confronts the consequences of their past. Abraxas helps them escape and the trio begin to form a protective unit, with romantic feelings developing between Sonia and Abraxas. Abraxas also disables his Answer Box to avoid orders to kill Tommy.

At Maxie's, Sonia and Abraxas grow closer and commit to protecting Tommy from Secundus’s threat. They decide to stay together on Earth rather than return to Sargacia. The emotional bond strengthens their shared resolve.

Secundus returns to the local school, threatening to kill the children unless someone brings him the Culmator. Abraxas, Sonia, and Tommy join the police to confront him and end his hold over the situation.

The trio confronts Secundus at a garage where he chases Tommy in a stolen car. Tommy’s latent pyrokinetic powers flare, igniting much of the garage and forcing a decisive battle with Abraxas.

Abraxas uses his Answer Box to scan Secundus for the Anti-Life Equation and disintegrates him, ending his rampage. Finder Command would have Abraxas return to Sargacia, but he stays on Earth with Sonia and Tommy to guard against exploitation of the Culmator.
