Aathi

The film opens with Anjali sitting by the sea on a bench in Rameswaram, feeding a white pigeon and exchanging pleasantries with a retired police officer, Shankar. She suddenly reveals a long-held plan and, with the help of her maternal uncle Ramachandran, kills Shankar. The act signals the start of her revenge and prompts her return to Chennai to attend college.

In New Delhi, Aathi lives with his parents Mani and Lakshmi and his sister, in a warm family environment. He travels to Chennai to pursue a college course against his parents’ wishes, prompting the family to relocate to support him. The move sets the stage for Anjali and Aathi to cross paths at the same campus.

Anjali studies at the same college as Aathi and harbors a personal vendetta against those who harmed her family. Ramachandran agrees to aid her, while a local gangster named RDX emerges with his own disputes, including tensions with Pattabhi. The campus becomes a crossroads for their intertwined motives and loyalties.

To advance their revenge, Ramachandran makes a failed attempt to kill Sadha, one of RDX’s henchmen, and Aathi kills Sadha with a gun he carries. RDX wrongly assumes Pattabhi was the killer and retaliates by murdering Pattabhi. The escalation pulls Aathi deeper into the murderous web surrounding his family’s fate.

Aathi arrives with Bullet, a comical classmate, to confront RDX and reveals that Sadha was killed by him, vowing to kill Abdullah as well. Abdullah attacks but is killed by Aathi, a moment witnessed by his family in horror. The brutal confrontation confirms Aathi’s deep personal mission against those behind his family’s murder.

It is revealed that Aathi is adopted and driven by a mission to avenge his biological family. His biological father was an honest cop who had arrested a henchman of RDX, linking the two families. Aathi explains that the primary motive for his actions sits in blood-tied tragedy from the past.

In the past sequence, RDX visits Aathi’s home and threatens the grandfather, while Aathi and his cousins defend with knives. Aathi’s father arrives, arrests RDX, and the confrontation seems to end. RDX returns with Shankar, and together they massacre the extended family, leaving only Anjali, Ramachandran, and Aathi alive as the house is blown apart.

Aadhi escapes the slaughter and is taken in by a couple who will become his adoptive parents. The trauma of the past shapes his identity and fuels his resolve to confront his enemies. The adoption marks a turning point that sets up his future actions.

Back in the present timeline, Aathi’s adoptive parents urge him to return to New Delhi, but he refuses to abandon his mission. He accompanies them toward the railway station, and the moment is interrupted when RDX’s henchmen launch an ambush. Aathi fights them off, protecting his family and signaling that his course is set for revenge.

Aathi warnings prompt Robert from Dubai to arrive and retaliate. Robert kills Ramachandran in a brutal confrontation and issues a challenge to meet him at RDX’s place. The stakes escalate as Aathi braces for a final showdown with Robert and the mastermind behind the killings.

Aathi makes his way to RDX’s base to confront Robert, aiming to end the immediate threat once and for all. The encounter is tense, with both men trading threats and blows in a location controlled by RDX’s organization. Aathi remains determined to bring down the man behind his family’s ruin.

Aathi defeats Robert in a decisive confrontation and kills him, ending that branch of the vendetta. He escapes the scene, but Anjali remains in peril as RDX’s henchmen continue their hold. The fight shifts toward the remaining mastermind, RDX.

RDX’s men abduct Anjali and hold her hostage inside the college library/old house. Bullet and the other students stage a daring rescue, freeing Anjali from captivity. The campus becomes the last-front in the battle for Anjali’s safety and Aathi’s vengeance.

In the climactic finale, Aathi corners and kills RDX, ending the gang’s brutal regime. He exits the scene with Anjali by his side, reuniting the last surviving members of their family. The film closes on a note that the cycle of vengeance has begun to unwind, with the pair walking away together.
