Aap Ki Kasam

Kamal Bhatnagar and Sunita cross paths and initially misunderstand each other. The misunderstanding is cleared, and they fall in love. They decide to marry with the blessing of their families.

Kamal begins his married life in comfort with Sunita. Mohan, a kind friend, helps him secure a house and a job. The couple settles into a stable routine with Mohan's support.

Taking pity on Mohan's unhappy life, Sunita befriends him to help ease his situation. Mohan's cheerful nature stands in contrast to his wife's scheming, creating tension around their circle. Her gesture lays the groundwork for an uneasy alliance that will affect later events.

Kamal's trust in Sunita begins to erode as he grows suspicious of her closeness to Mohan. He accuses her of infidelity and jealousy begins to wedge the couple apart. The bond between them weakens as tension escalates.

During Mohan's party, Kamal spots Sunita with Mohan and erupts in anger. He questions Sunita and suspects an affair, leading to a painful confrontation. Heartbroken, Sunita leaves for her parents' house.

Sunita's father comes to talk sense into Kamal, but Kamal refuses to listen. Sunita's mother urges compromise, but her father's stern stance blocks any reunion. The family remains divided, setting the stage for further conflict.

A divorce notice is sent to Kamal in an attempt to force him to come to terms with the separation. Kamal dismisses it as a bluff, and the divorce proceeds. Sunita is devastated by the break, and the emotional blow leads to her hospitalization.

Sunita's heartbreak deepens and she is hospitalized. The separation takes a toll on her health as she battles the emotional pain. The strain of the broken relationship looms large over both families.

Kamal chases a man who jumps the fence between his property and Mohan's and learns from Suresh that he is having an affair with Mohan's wife. Suresh reveals Mohan's innocence, shattering Kamal's created narrative. Kamal resolves to set things right.

Repentant, Kamal asks Mohan for forgiveness, and Mohan graciously forgives him. Kamal then goes to Sunita's house to seek answers, only to be told that Sunita's father has remarried her, forcing her further into her new life. The revelation compounds his grief.

Many years pass as Kamal becomes an old beggar, wandering the streets in solitude. He returns to his deserted house and faces hostility when mistaken for a thief. Mohan finds him and the two men begin to reconcile once more.

Mohan delivers a letter from Sunita to Kamal, explaining that she was pregnant when she left and remarried for their daughter's sake. She asks him to come to their daughter's wedding and bless her.

Kamal attends his daughter's wedding, buoyed by the letter's message. A fire breaks out in the hall; he heroically saves his daughter but is mortally wounded in the effort. The tragedy underscores the depth of his sacrifice.

As Kamal lies dying, Sunita reveals to her daughter that Kamal is her true father. He blesses his granddaughter with his last breath, and the wedding ceremony fades into a funeral. The film closes on a somber note, honoring his selfless love.
