Plot Summary
Jerzy Stuhr wrote, directed and stars as Adam Borowski, a government lawyer who prosecutes cases of smuggling, theft, child abandonment and racially motivated assault. Yet his personal life is anything but lawful: he is deep in debt, evades hospital bills for his terminally ill mother, juggles a failing marriage while maintaining an affair, resists his wife’s wish to adopt a disabled child by stalling the paperwork, and manipulates a charitable‑donation scheme of dubious legality to lower his taxes.
