James Mason delivers a haunting performance in this eerie love story. An elderly couple moves into a dilapidated, supposedly cursed house and takes in a young girl to keep the wife company. The girl soon becomes possessed by the spirit of a wealthy woman who was murdered in the home, intertwining past tragedy with present lives.
