A Pizza Tweety-Pie

Tweety and Granny arrive at their hotel in Venice, starting their vacation. The scene establishes the vacation mood and the picturesque canal setting that will frame the chase. The hotel becomes the initial base from which Tweety's adventures unfold.

From his balcony overlooking the canal, Sylvester spies Tweety singing from his cage. He hurries outside with an open sandwich roll, slips, and falls into the water. The chase through Venice's waterways is now underway.

After resurfacing, Sylvester locates a nearby canoe and begins rowing toward Tweety. He forgets to loosen the rope, cuts it, and promptly sinks with the canoe. The failed crossing sets the tone for his slippery pursuit.

Sylvester hops into an inflatable raft to chase Tweety, but Tweety shoots a wrenching blow to the raft with a slingshot, puncturing it. As the air leaks, the raft drifts back to the dock and ends up stuck on Sylvester. He grudgingly frees himself from the deflated raft.

Desperate, Sylvester swings across the canal using a rope Tarzan-style, but crashes into the water. He plummets into the open mouth of a hungry shark that bears a Dopey Dick likeness. He wrestles free and swims away, wiser but still determined.

Sylvester rigs an electric fan and a balloon tied to his waist to glide through the air toward Tweety. He floats too high, losing control as Tweety fires a slingshot and sends him spiraling downward. He descends toward the water in a bathing cap.

Sylvester misses the water and lands on the sidewalk beside the hotel as Tweety and Granny are leaving. He runs into the hotel and rides the elevator to the floor where they stayed, only to get dumped back down into the water when the elevator returns. The comic misdirection fuels the chase.

While Tweety and Granny take a gondola ride, Sylvester waits on a bridge with a fishing rod. He hooks a passing speedboat and yanks it into the canal, narrowly avoiding a collision with a striped pole. A low bridge then cuts the chase short in another gag.

Back in pursuit, Sylvester chases Tweety by hurling a strand of spaghetti like a lasso. Tweety struggles to free himself, nearly getting strangled by the pasta. The scene builds toward the final, comic showdown as the chase continues.

Granny clutches Sylvester's spaghetti noose and substitutes a mallet in Tweety's place. The unexpected weapon shift foils Sylvester's plan and pays off in classic cartoon fashion.

Sylvester sucks the spaghetti into his mouth but is clobbered by the mallet. The bite ends with birds appearing and repeating Tweety's trademark line, providing the cartoon's signature closing gag.
