In 1989, housewife Debbie Smith’s quiet life with police officer husband Rob and their two children is shattered when she’s dragged from her kitchen and brutally raped in the woods. After enduring a dehumanizing rape‑kit and waiting years, a chance DNA test finally catches her attacker. Learning how many kits stay untested, Debbie commits to reform the system so other women won’t face such a long fight for justice.
