A Gem of a Jam

The wounded robber stumbled into the medical facility seeking help after a botched robbery. He and his fellow criminals assumed it was a legitimate medical office with actual doctors on duty. They had no reason to suspect that the janitors they encountered were not qualified physicians.

While the Stooges were performing their botched anesthesia with the rubber mallet, they became distracted and turned their backs to the gurney. The patient, already heavily sedated from the crude treatment, slid off the examination table and rolled off the gurney, crashing through the window and landing directly in a police vehicle that happened to be parked below.

The Stooges genuinely believed they were qualified doctors treating a real patient. Lacking any actual medical training, they improvised by using a rubber mallet to knock the patient unconscious, treating it like a routine medical procedure rather than recognizing their complete incompetence.

After Moe and Larry freed Curly from the fishbowl by popping it off his head, Curly felt a strange tickling sensation from inside. This implies he accidentally swallowed the goldfish during the ordeal, though the film does not dwell on any serious consequences from this bizarre incident.

After witnessing their companion fall through the window and land in a police car, the remaining gang members panicked and fled. The police quickly pursued and apprehended them, eventually capturing them in the storage area of the facility where they had sought refuge.

The storage area contained various eerie theatrical props and artifacts, including a large jack-in-the-box. This was used as a comedic prop to build tension and atmosphere in the dark storage room, adding to the surreal, spooky mood before Curly's plastered appearance startled everyone.

During the chaos in the storage area, Curly somehow got pressed into wet plaster that dried extremely fast, encasing his body and leaving him frozen in a ghostlike, motionless state. His sudden transformation into a pale, immobile figure provided a visually striking comedic moment that frightened those around him.
