The indolent Moe, Larry, and Curly Stooges are jolted awake by their wives’ persistent pleas for them to punch a real paycheck. A chance meeting with a slick salesman leads them to Dr. Bright, the head of a company desperate for new faces to push his latest invention, a tonic called Brighto. The trio misreads Brighto as a simple polish, and with that comic misinterpretation, they dive headlong into a street-level sales campaign, certain that they will conjure up instant customers.

Their enthusiastic demonstrations quickly spiral into calamity. Larry accidentally soils a policeman’s attire, Moe clumsily wrecks a passerby’s shoes, and Brighto’s application somehow strips the paint from a gentleman’s spotless automobile. What starts as a well-meaning pitch devolves into a slapstick chase as irate pedestrians and authorities give chase, forcing the Stooges to retreat to Dr. Bright’s premises to catch their breath and vent their frustrations about the near capture.

Dr. Bright, insisting he’s offering a medicinal remedy rather than a polish, gives them another shot at proving themselves. To shake their pursuer, the trio exploits an elevator trick, sending the antagonist to an unintended floor, then makes a hasty exit aboard a hospital gurney repurposed into a chaotic conveyance. The chase careens through hallways and stairwells, erupting into a riotous street collision that leaves the Stooges scrambling for safety. They finally retreat to the familiar, forgiving sofa-and-bed routine of home, where they settle back into their interrupted sleep, hoping for quieter days ahead.

The escapades unfold with the classic tempo of the troupe’s routines: sharp timing, physical gags, and the stubborn optimism of three men who believe they can turn any pitch into a sale, no matter the cost. Across the misadventures, the memory of Brighto lingers as a punchy reminder of the line between a genuine medical remedy and an all-too-human misinterpretation, a kernel that threads through each chaotic misfire and narrow escape.
