In 1915, Helene Schjerfbeck lives a secluded life as a largely forgotten artist with her mother. Years have passed since her last exhibition, and she continues to paint driven by her passion. Her quiet existence is disrupted when an art dealer discovers her extensive collection of 159 paintings and proposes a private exhibition. A significant turning point arrives with the introduction of Einar Reuter, a young forester and passionate admirer of her work.
