Aladdin

An orphan street urchin named Aladdin and his monkey Abu encounter Princess Jasmine when she secretly leaves the palace. Jasmine longs to prove herself beyond royal expectations and to become more than just a bride candidate. This chance meeting sparks a forbidden connection that drives the early part of the story.

The royal vizier Jafar reveals his plan to overthrow the Sultan and seeks the legendary lamp from the Cave of Wonders, believing it will grant him unstoppable power. He envisions a future where he controls Agrabah and its secrets. He uses Aladdin as a pawn to retrieve the lamp.

While sneaking into the palace to visit Jasmine, Aladdin and Abu are captured by Jafar. Jafar offers to make Aladdin rich enough to impress Jasmine if he retrieves the lamp. The capture marks the start of a perilous journey for Aladdin.

Jafar formalizes the deal, promising wealth and status to Aladdin if he brings back the lamp. Aladdin, eager to win Jasmine’s heart, agrees to undertake the dangerous retrieval. The stakes are raised as the quest gains urgent momentum.

Inside the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin frees a magical carpet and discovers the lamp. Jafar betrays him by kicking him and Abu back into the cave, though Abu secretly manages to steal the lamp back before they’re trapped. The cave’s perilous magic tests Aladdin’s resolve.

Aladdin rubs the lamp, awakening the omnipotent Genie who can grant three wishes. He escapes the cave with the help of the Genie, leaving the cave behind without using a wish on a technicality. This encounter redefines Aladdin’s destiny and sets up the prince-for-a-night plan.

To win Jasmine, Aladdin uses his first wish to become a prince, hoping the royal title will help him win her heart. He plans to operate under the Genie’s guidance while keeping his humanity intact. The magical transformation marks a turning point in the story.

As Prince Ali of Ababwa, Aladdin makes a dazzling entrance, but Jasmine remains wary of his true identity. The Genie’s presence adds humor and tension, while Jasmine’s handmaiden Dalia forms a bond with the Genie. The deception weighs on their budding romance.

Jafar uncovers that Aladdin is not a genuine prince and uses that to tighten his grip on Jasmine and the lamp. He kidnaps Aladdin and dumps him into the palace moat and the sea, hoping the lamp will reveal itself if Aladdin survives. The Genie rescues him but costs him a second wish.

Aladdin returns to the palace and destroys Jafar’s cobra staff, breaking the spell that had enchanted the Sultan and toppled Jafar’s control. The Sultan permits Aladdin to marry Jasmine, though Aladdin remains uneasy about his fabricated identity. The victory restores order in Agrabah.

Alicia—err, Aladdin—hesitates to free the Genie, worried about maintaining his new life and the consequences of honesty. The Genie, feeling tethered to a lie, withdraws into the lamp, hinting at a fragile balance between friendship and truth. This moment foreshadows the looming moral test.

Freed by his parrot, Jafar steals the lamp and becomes the most powerful being, exiling Aladdin and Jasmine and threatening Agrabah. The Genie guides a final rescue, and Aladdin uses his last wish to free the Genie, ending Jafar’s tyranny. Jasmine is crowned sultana, and Aladdin and Jasmine marry, with the Genie and Dalia starting a life together.
