Bodhidharma, a master of martial arts and medicine, is sent to China by his guru to stop a spreading pandemic. Initially treated with suspicion, he proves his healing prowess by curing patients, including a girl, and begins teaching others. His abilities lead to the creation of Shaolin practices, but the villagers plot to bury him near the temple, and Bodhidharma ultimately agrees to die, becoming a legendary figure known as Damo.

After his death, Bodhidharma's legacy endures in Chinese history. He is revered as a foundational figure, affectionately known as Damo, who inspired martial arts and healing traditions.

In modern-day China, Dong Lee is tasked with launching a government-backed biological warfare operation against India, code-named Operation Red. He lays the groundwork for a bioweapon plan that echoes Bodhidharma-era disease.

Dong Lee travels to Chennai, India, and initiates Operation Red by injecting a virus into a street dog to seed the outbreak. This act marks the first move of a plan that echoes the Bodhidharma-era disease.

Subha Srinivasan, a genetics student, discovers that Bodhidharma's DNA could be revived if matched with a living descendant. She identifies Aravind, a circus artist and Bodhidharma's descendant living nearby, as the key to the project.

Subha approaches Aravind and an unexpected romance blossoms, intertwining personal feelings with the mission to stop Operation Red. Aravind's lineage to Bodhidharma makes him central to the plan to resurrect Bodhidharma's abilities.

Aravind's family recalls Subha's visit a year prior in search of Aravind's background. Subha lies to them to protect her method, though the truth will surface later.

Aravind confronts Subha upon learning the truth, but after a tense moment they reconcile and decide to collaborate to save the country. They commit to using his Bodhidharma lineage to halt Operation Red.

Subha returns to the genetics department only to face skepticism, as colleagues dismiss the value of an ancient treatise. Disappointed, Subha leaves to pursue a real-world strategy to stop the outbreak.

Subha and Aravind sneak into the professor's apartment and discover that he is assisting Dong Lee for a large payoff. The professor explains he was paid by the Chinese government to facilitate Operation Red.

Dong Lee escalates the plan and wreaks havoc in the city, leveraging his hypnotism and other abilities. Subha, Aravind and their allies scramble to stay ahead and protect their lead toward reviving Bodhidharma.

The group locates a research center where they can activate Bodhidharma's DNA in Aravind and begin a covert, high-stakes plan. To avoid detection, they deactivate their phones and go into hiding, but Dong Lee traces them with the help of outside contacts who are later killed.

Aravind awakens Bodhidharma's talents in a pivotal fight and battles Dong Lee to a standstill. They manage to eradicate the virus and avert the global threat.

In the aftermath, Subha and Aravind address the media to emphasize learning from history and applying science, not gods, in solving problems. The film closes with a call to remember important histories and to teach practices in the name of science.
