Zia finds himself in a desolate realm of the afterlife, a place filled with sorrow and devoid of warmth or hope. This bleak purgatory harbors souls who have met tragic ends, including self-inflicted ones, creating an atmosphere of collective despair.

Zia learns from Brian that his ex-girlfriend, Desiree, took her own life shortly after his own tragic demise. This revelation fills him with grief and a newfound sense of responsibility, compelling him to seek out Desiree.

Motivated by his emotions, Zia embarks on a journey alongside Eugene, a fellow lost soul. Their aim is to locate Desiree amidst the desolation of their afterlife.

While traveling along a barren landscape, Zia and Eugene pick up a hitchhiker named Mikal. She claims her arrival was a mistake and speaks of searching for a mysterious group known as the 'people in charge'.
